The results showed that the textbook “Hello Jakarta” for Grade V of Elementary Students published by Erlangga has been used the cultural content, the cultural category that identified majorly in the source culture. Data were analyzed through the steps of data collection, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach and used the document study in the form of a checklist. This study aims to find out what cultural content are identified in the textbook “Hello Jakarta” for Grade V of Elementary Students published by Erlangga using the adaptation of cultural framework by Xiao (2010). Regarding this urgency, analyzing textbook is important. Since the importance of using textbook is significant, choosing the best textbook which suitable for students’ needs is necessary. In the teaching and learning English as a foreign language activity textbooks still be the primary resource. Language and culture are inseparable because language serves a particular culture and through the language, the cultural values of a people are reflected.
Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku teks ini telah menerapkan konten budaya yang akan membantu siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing. Buku ini juga telah menggunakan tema budaya C besar dan c kecil yang diusulkan oleh Xiao (2010), peneliti menemukan bahwa budaya C besar lebih didominasi daripada budaya c kecil, namun tidak semua tema budaya C besar dan c kecil digunakan di buku ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku teks "Hello Jakarta" untuk Siswa Kelas V SD yang diterbitkan oleh Erlangga telah menerapkan konten budaya, kategori budaya yang paling utama digunakan adalah budaya sumber. Data dianalisis melalui langkah-langkah berupa pengumpulan data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan menggunakan studi dokumen dalam bentuk checklist. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa saja konten budaya yang terdapat dalam buku teks "Hello Jakarta" untuk Siswa Kelas V SD yang diterbitkan oleh Erlangga menggunakan adaptasi kerangka budaya oleh Xiao (2010). Sesuai dengan urgensi tersebut, maka menganalisis buku teks menjadi hal yang penting. Karena pentingnya penggunaan buku teks dalam belajar mengajar, memilih buku teks terbaik yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa sangat diperlukan. Dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, buku teks Bahasa Inggris masih menjadi sumber utama.
